A Northern Delicacy: Butter Cheese Sandwich
This butter sandwich, which has been incredibly popular since its release in 2019, was born from the trial and error of Yuko Bakusa, the head pastry chef at Ferme La Terre Biei, who holds a German confectionery master's qualification, with the desire to "create a light-textured butter cream with an authentic European feel that doesn't exist in Japan."

A rich yet light cream of butter and cheese.
We've incorporated plenty of air into Hokkaido butter to create a light texture. Adding cream cheese enhances the flavor, resulting in a smoother, more aromatic taste. A touch of coconut oil is added for a refreshing aftertaste, making it easy to eat.

The shortbread has a pleasant, crisp and crumbly texture.
The shortbread is made with La Terre's original blend of flour from Biei, named "Biei no Kaze" (Wind of Biei), and is rolled out to a thickness of 4mm with a hint of Okhotsk salt. The dough is left to rest overnight after preparation, and then baked thinly, resulting in a crisp, crumbly texture that complements the cream perfectly.
